Logistics Coordinator
Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Sales Team by providing operational support and managing enquiries from customers and agents for both import and export services.
Job Duties
- Request rates from various agents/service providers
- Prepare quotations for customers for both import and export shipments via Magaya
- Follow up with customers on quotations to determine if the Company’s rates were competitive
- Liaise and follow up with agents to book shipments and arrange picking up of cargo in a timely manner
- Address problems and issues that may arise daily with customers shipments
- Follow up on the status of bookings as well as provide routine, timely updates to customers
- Follow up with export customers for payments for services rendered where required
- Provide the documentation department with the relevant import buy/sell information
- Prepare pro forma bill of ladings
- Assist with answering of the Company’s telephone
- Assist in preparation of Tenders & Contracts
- Liaise with suppliers, shipping lines, agents, customs brokers, truckers, port officials to coordinate the smooth flow on import/exports
Job Requirements
- At least two (2) years’ experience in the shipping industry
- Diploma in LCCI, Marketing, an asset
- A minimum of five (CXC) passes inclusive of English Language and Mathematics
