Payroll Officer
The Payroll Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely execution of payroll operations across multiple territories. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the integrity of payroll data, maintaining employee records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and delivering exceptional service to internal stakeholders. The incumbent will also contribute to process improvements and support broader HR initiatives through data analysis and reporting.

Salary Range: $10,000 – $12,000
1. Administer and process monthly payrolls across all operating territories, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established deadlines.
2. Ensure timely and compliant remittance of all statutory payments in accordance with regulatory requirements.
3. Perform monthly reconciliations and generate detailed payroll reports to support financial audits and internal reviews by the end of each month.
4. Post General Ledger (GL) entries by the second working day of each month to ensure accurate financial reporting.
5. Manage departmental payments in line with company policies and financial controls.
6. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly, maintaining a high standard of accuracy and confidentiality.
7. Prepare and deliver payroll-related reports and analytics as requested by management.
8. Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll queries, providing clear guidance and ensuring policy compliance.
9. Evaluate payroll systems and procedures, recommending and implementing enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
10. Responsible for preparing and issuing job letters in a timely and accurate manner.
11. Engage in continuing education to stay abreast of current trends, best practices, regulations and laws that impact the payroll function.
12. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to support data-driven decision-making through analysis and reporting.
13. Prepare and submit annual remuneration forms and reports in accordance with established timelines
14. Perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the HR function.
ACADEMIC/EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE
• A minimum of five (5) G.C.E. or C.X.C. (General level) passes of which Mathematics and English Language are compulsory
• Level 1 ACCA Certification.
• At least 3 years performing related job functions with demonstrated payroll processing experience
• Understanding of payroll legislation and processes for all territories with ability to interpret awards and relevant legislation
• Numerical ability and data entry skills
• Experience using HR Plus software would be an asset
