Custodian

Job Summary:
Our client in the Shipping industry is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to ensure a consistently clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both staff and clients. This part-time role plays a crucial part in maintaining high standards of hygiene and professional presentation across the facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for general cleaning duties, basic facility upkeep, and the care of both indoor and outdoor plants, helping to foster a pleasant and well-maintained workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

1. General Cleaning and Maintenance:

• Sweep, vacuum, mop, and scrub all hard surface floors (tiles)
• Dust and clean walls, doors, furniture, and surfaces throughout the premises
• Move and reposition furniture and items as needed to facilitate cleaning
• Ensure all floor surfaces are thoroughly dried and free of residue or hazards

2. Restroom Area Sanitation:

• Deep clean and disinfect all restroom fixtures including toilets, sinks, and showers
• Scrub and sanitize tiled walls and flooring to remove build-up
• Clean and polish mirrors, faucets, and bathroom fittings

3. Kitchen Area Maintenance:

• Sanitize countertops, sinks, and kitchen appliances such as microwaves, ovens, and refrigerators
• Deep clean the inside of kitchen cabinets and ensure organized storage areas
• Mop and disinfect all kitchen flooring

4. Plant Care and Office Presentation:

• Water and maintain both indoor and outdoor office plants to ensure a pleasant office atmosphere
• Monitor and report any facility-related issues, damages, or hazards
• Contribute to the organization and cleanliness of shared office spaces

Requirements:

• Prior experience in custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance roles
• Knowledge of appropriate cleaning techniques and safe handling of cleaning agents
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining hygiene standards
• Good physical condition with the ability to lift, bend, and perform repetitive tasks

Additional Information:
This is a part-time opportunity, ideal for a dependable individual who takes pride in creating clean and professional workspaces. The Custodian will work three (3) days per week and is expected to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety at all times.
