Sales Executive
Responsibilities – Sales and Customer Service
- Identify prospective customers for Harris products and accessories by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organisations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
- Develop and maintain a Sales Territory, prospecting for paint projects with Hotels, Developers, Contractors, and other B2B Trade clients.
- Process and maintain accurate sales invoices, transactions, records, and reports.
- Develop and implement strategies and sales plans that expand the customer base.
- Service assigned accounts increasing their order volume, visit potential customers to demonstrate products which may involve technical descriptions of products and the way they may be used, and show samples and generate orders.
- Carry out formal presentations of products using videos and other training aids, attend promotional markets and organise product displays.
- Quote and negotiate prices and credit terms, prepare proposals and contracts and record orders.
- Provide customers with quotations for /on projects, make recommendations and write specifications of recommendations for customers to follow.
- Prepare realistic sales forecast and be accountable for them.
- Report to the Sales Manager – Trade on current sales and potential sales leads.
- Respond to customer complaints.
Qualifications/Experiences
A Diploma / Associate Degree in business management or marketing or equivalent professional designation of professional sales and customer relation certifications or professional paint certification, with 5 years’ experience in a Sales or Retail role
OR
Completion of professional paint certification or similar sales and marketing designation or related field along with at least 3 years’ experience in a Sales or Retail role.
Skills, Competencies and Requirements for the Position
- Excellent knowledge of Retail, Sales and Customer Service processes and best practices.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
- Sound Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Passion for excellence with a “can do” attitude.
- Highly creative, with good initiative and judgment.
- Proven skills in negotiating.
- Excellent time management skills including managing meetings and simultaneously managing several projects.
- Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Previous experience in a SAGE 300 system billing environment would be an asset.
- Knowledge and experience of working in the Paint industry would be an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and functional vehicle.
